How many REP points can I ask for?

The number of points you will be allocated is a function of how many students participate in REP-offering classes and how many researchers request points.

Fall and Spring: As many as 2000 students enroll in classes that offer REP points, and the REP pool can be as large as 20,000 to 30,000 points. Points are allocated first to researchers completing dissertation studies; remaining points are divided equally among faculty sponsors. In a typical semester, faculty sponsors are allocated somewhere between 600-1500 points.

Summer: As few as 200 students enroll in REP-offering classes, and the REP pool may be as small as 1000-2000 points, total. When these points are divvied up, faculty sponsors may each have as few as 50-250 points!
